Type Rating Instructors Course
INSTRUCTOR COURSES
A Type Rating Instructor certificate allows the holder to instruct for the issue, renewal or revalidation of type ratings, and revalidation or renewal of the associated Instrument Rating.
Much more important than the bare legal statement is that Instructors are responsible for the education and continual development of pilots and their skills. At Lupus Air Services we aim to train Instructors who are ready to lead the way into future developments in training.
PART 1 – TEACHING AND LEARNING
This is a four day classroom based course that lays the groundwork for the practical training to follow.
PART 2 & 3 – TYPE TECHNICAL & PRACTICAL TRAINING
The type technical training consists of classroom work delivering lectures on the aircraft systems and procedures, plus briefing and debriefing for the practical training. Since these briefings and debriefings are integral to the practical elements, Parts 2 & 3 are completed together.
The practical training consists of a minimum of 10 hours simulator training for a restricted (simulator only) certificate, or 12 hours to include the Takeoff and Landing training qualification. During this training the Trainee is practicing acting as the Instructor for a type rating.
At the end of this is the Assessment of Competence. To complete the Takeoff and Landing Training qualification there is then a session in the aircraft once again practicing being the Instructor during base training. For addition of further types this training may be reduced, depending on experience.
